It's been a while since I posted, and some things have changed here and there.

living room

foyer (which has had no work done...it's more of a catch-all at this point)

bedroom

kitchen

this photo shows off our pac man sheet you can see hanging from the window in the living room. the other set of curtains fell two days ago and I have yet to put them back up. and one day our dining room will be a place we can sit down to eat...not work. it will have to be our office until the upstairs has been renovated.

dining room...and all of the papers that need to be moved upstairs and filed. I guess I could have picked up a bit, but I was too shutter happy to care!

...and that's all of the downstairs minus the completion of the bathroom, window casings in the kitchen, and a tin ceiling in the dining room.

one day we'll get to the three rooms upstairs, and hopefully the attic if support allows. oh, and a screen porch off the kitchen...if the historic society allows. oh, and a green house off of the garage! oh, and...

if you are interested, you can see the entire restoration (thus far) here.

thanks for looking! :)

Great spaces! I love how the rooms really relate and open up to one another.
And I have the same little blue armchair that you have a pair of!

thanks! yeah, i love the open floor plan!

we scored those chairs at a thrift store for $5 each :) i love them!

i love the chandelier in the bathroom, i'm actually looking for a little black one for my poweder room at the moment! so cool! and those b&w tiles in yuor kitchen are to die for...

the chandelier was one of those ugly brass ones. i got it for $1, spray painted it, and voila! i def recommend that route cause they can be super pricey...

thanks! the kitchen floor is actually a vinyl sheet :) other than the 1" tiles in our bathroom, i can't stand tile haha

i love everything!
i don't see one thing i don't like.

That shade of turquoise/teal in the foyer and on your armchairs is one of my favourites. Lovely.

yeah, i love those chairs!

and as much as i do like the blue on the stairs, eventually we are going to strip the paint and take all of that back to the original wood. it's a gorgeous poplar :)

Oh, it's absolutely gorgeous! (I love the kitchen especially. Always wanted a black & white kitchen.)

Can you post more pics of the bathroom? I spy a claw foot tub!

thanks! :)

we are currently in the process of hooking up the tub...and i've got to move the sink from the foyer (haha) to the bathroom and hook it up to. once i'm finished with the bathroom project, i'll post more :)

thanks!

yeah, it was a mess when we got the house. in the kitchen, there was a puddle of piss :(:( and the sink drained into a 5 gallon home depot bucket. and the bathroom omg gross.

I looooooove the kitchen! It's gorgeous!

thank you! i've always dreamed to have a b/w checkered floor :)

my gosh... this is like my dream home.

*swoon* The colors are perfect - so warm and inviting! What an amazing space!

thank you :)

hehe my husband was being super indecisive about the colors that i had picked out, so one day when he was at work, i went and got all of the paint and painted the entire house. when he got home he loved it so much :) go with the gut...always go with the gut!

the colors are all from valspar's historical paint color collection...

That's an incredible transformation! Just a gorgeous house. I checked out your lj and would like to add you to my friends list -- great photos!

why thank you!!! and i added you back :)

Omg i love your house! its soo adorable it kind of reminds me of a doll house, but ten times cuter

thank you!

funny you should say that because that's exactly how i feel about my house. i always wanted those build/decorate your own doll houses, but never got one...until now...and it's my size :)

omg. i love it. it's so simple and retro.

I saw your post on saucy dwellings aaaaages ago with like all the restoration blah. it looks like a completely different house.

fuck, i'm in awe. can i move in? :)

thanks!

yeah, it was nasty when we first started restoring. it was a duplex, and we have taken it back to a single family. there was a puddle of pee in the kitchen, the sink drained into a bucket, and there was mold all over the bathroom. it was quite disgusting...

sure!!! we have plenty of space, so come on over!

Your bathroom is so cute esp. with that chandelier, and I really love your kitchen!

thanks!! it was only $1! it was an ugly brass chandelier, and i just spray painted it :)

As always, love your place!

Can you tell me about the bathroom wallpaper? Is it a recent purchase? I'm thinking of going kelly green in my own bathroom.

thanks!

oh that wallpaper is fantastic! it came from ballard designs...and you can order online. they have some FANTASTIC stuff :)

hi, it's me again, your fangirl. once again, i love it all. love love love. did you make your bedspread from the urban outfitter curtains? cause i have those curtains hanging in my living room.

hehe hello! thank you!

yeah, i just have the one panel from UO. it's HUGE though! i love the pattern so much :)

do you have a pic of them as curtains??

Oh it's so open and old-fashioned. I love it. Where do you live?

thanks! we live in huntsville, alabama :)

absolutely gorgeous. everything is lovely.

::packs::

directions, pls?

Such clean lines. And the space! Oh, I love it!

Oh wow, wow! It is all so amazing. And the kitchen looks like one of those vintage photos that are black and white with a few things in the picture colored in.
Did the chandelier in your bathroom come from etsy.com? There is a similar one I am considering on etsy for my closet

why thank you!

nope, the chandelier was actually an ugly brass. i bought it for a dollar at habitat restore and just spray painted it! the shape is what drew me in :)

Beautiful and inspiring!

your house is lovely! and the kitchen is absolutely my favorite of the rooms!

yeah, i think it's mine too! hehe :)

i can't wait until we get window casings...then it'll be perfecto!

Oh wow! Your place is fantastic! I love it!

That place is so beautiful it's almost spooky. Those blue chairs... the color, I'm in love with it. They look lovely with the blue of the staircase.

If we could just trade homes now it would make me very happy. Okay? LOL

why thank you! yeah, those chairs were only $5 each! i couldn't resist!
