Oh hi! I'm a 22 year old art school graduate soon to be grad student and this is my apartment in Ottawa (Canada)

I made panoramas of the main rooms, a few of them are a bit wonky but the largest room in my apartment is 10'x10' and it's hard to get far away enough to take a decent photo of the whole room-

The apartment itself is a U shape around the building's stairwell with two rooms on each side (so all each room leads into the next) and a hallway connecting them, its about 10'x4' so it isn't much good for anything except storage. Besides being tiny, almost everything was free or thrifted!

my office/front hall/studio (I am a painter/printmaker/graphic designer)/sewing room/dining room

the table is meant to be able to be moved to the middle of the room if i have people over for dinner (I havent yet but I will)
table from estate sale, chair (there is another one somewhere) a la garbage day

the space between the office and the kitchen, vintage camera collection and obligatory polaroids

tiniest ever kitchen

this was the only way to show the whole bathroom, it's actually a narrow rectangle
(hot pink hand towels that go with Marie Antoinette poster present but not pictured)

next up we have the hallway

the cool door near the ceiling was more mysterious before we finally got it open to discover only a space between the top of the closet and the floor of the apartment above... the only thing the hall is amazing for is bike storage, my bike likes having it's own room, safe from nasty bike theives!

painting by me, polaroids of bf and bff, postcards from YSL exhibit
plaster hippos inherited (priceless)

lets see some more hippos...

now on to the livingroom (first awkward panorama)

on the wall opposite is my bookcase and a linen cupboard that is only 7 inches deep...

my bedroom is the biggest and my favorite room (it was also the most awkward to photograph):

and here are the best parts:

the painting is a canvas print of a Maurice Utrillo painting of Montmartre, it and the vintage hats, one of the record stands in the living room and the sweet formica/chrome dinette table in the studio all came from the same estate sale.

Ottawa! :)

I love your shower curtain, where did you get it?

target! I wish we had them here :(

thnx for posting, love seeing another white apartment so full of joy. showing white is NOT boring! ;-)

I love white walls too! It's a bit beigey but I couldn't paint it pure white because the ceilings are also off white and their too high to paint but I like it all the same.

I completely love the hippos!

Fabulous space ^_^
I'm also picturing you climbing the walls, practically, to get these shots ^_^

I have the same shower curtain, it makes me happy!

+1, the boyfriend actually picked it out.

I love that you said "tiny sauce".

Also, I do like your table (with stools.)

Adorable Place.

Off topic: I'm considering moving to Ottawa, but I have no friends or anyone to ask about life out there. I do Media Design. Is living expensive? Is there much design work? Do you like it?

What I'm doing right now isn't entirely design, I work for a small real estate newspaper doing ad work and customer service (it's a big step out of art school but I'm taking graphic design part time at Algonquin).

There is a lot more work in media/web design here but it's all really small companies.

Expenses wise it's comparable to Toronto, my place is amazingly cheap for downtown.

love all the whites and creams with spots of color. i would love to live in your little place!

I really like this, it looks very homey :)

i love white walls and wooden floors! i like yr radiators too. your place looks great... lived in, rather than really ~designed~ but still really stylish. you have a lot of cool stuff!

your apartment, oh wow. i think you have an amazing space!

LOVE IT!
that couch is so cute, too

thanks! Salvation army + dusty rose braid that I haggled an old lady for at a fabric sale!

I love your nifty thrifty-ness apt. :)

aww, ottawa is my hometown!
it's lovely, bright and white!

thanks!
didn't you go to Lisgar?

It's fantastic! I love the white walls + hardwoods look, personally. You've done a great job. I especially like your curtains in that space.

That is the same size as our old kitchen! Isn't it tinytiny??

so tiny, that photo is all of the counter space i have, but its a good way to control clutter!

your shower curtain is my bedroom curtain :)

Finally someone with a kitchen the size of mine! It's so wittle:D

very cute and creative use of space. as the owner of an ALMOST equally small kitchen, I commend you.

i'm saving this to my memories!
this is great!

that's a huge compliment, thanks!

I love your whole house! :)

I thought our kitchen was small! But otherwise it looks awesome!

It is not my idea of saucy, but I do love your floors and all of that natural light! I like a lot of your artwork too, but the apartment lacks a cohesive design. Everything is just there and a bit cluttered.

Well that's too bad, the floors are kind of a moot point since I rent. To each their own I guess. I assure you nothing in this apartment is "just there".

you know how much I love your apartment. it is saucy extraordinaire <3
nice panoramas too

Thanks! I totally thought of you while I was photomerging! (The only thing I learned in 16 hours of photoshop class!)

to me your apartment seems very cohesive...but nice little variations too. so lovable!!

Ah we think alike!
Kurt Halsey and I have that shower curtain! : )
Photobucket
Did you happen to pick up this amazing thing ?
Photobucket

No but *heart!*!
Is it from UO? We don't have one where I live, I got the prints for christmas a few years ago :).
